SACHS THANKS BRAND FOR PHONE MESSAGE FURORE
British actor ANDREW SACHS has thanked RUSSELL BRAND for his prank phone calls - because it gave the FAWLTY TOWERS legend's flagging career a boost.
Last year (08) the comic quit his British radio show after he and fellow broadcaster Jonathan Ross were heavily criticised for leaving "grossly offensive" messages on TV star Sachs' answer machine during a live broadcast.
The pair discussed Brand's fling with the 78-year-old's granddaughter Georgina Baillie.
But Sachs has forgiven the pair - and thanked them for upping his profile since the furore.
He says, "I came out of it very well. My profile's up. Great! They did me good. Thank you very much."
