KURT RUSSELL once owned a baseball team in Portland, Oregon that was the most successful minor league team in the history of the game. Russell, a one-time baseball prodigy, used the team for rehab whenever he was injured and released from the California Angels. The movie star, who also played for the San Diego Padres, was forced to give up his love for the game in 1973 when a torn shoulder muscle forced his retirement.
