RUNAWAYS DRUMMER DIES AT 47
THE RUNAWAYS rocker SANDY WEST has lost her battle with lung cancer. She was 47. West formed the all-girl rock group with JOAN JETT, LITA FORD and CHERIE CURRIE, paving the way for other girl power acts like THE BANGLES and the GO GOS. In a statement from Jett, the singer says, "I am overcome from the loss of my friend... She was an exuberant and powerful drummer."
