RUN-DMC'S HALL OF FAME TRIBUTE TO JAM MASTER JAY

Rappers RUN-DMC dedicated their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday night (04Apr09) to slain bandmate JAM MASTER JAY.
Joseph 'Run' Simmons and Darryl 'DMC' MCDaniels collected the honour at a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, along with Jay's mother, Connie Mizell.
And they thanked her for allowing them to practise in her New York home, right at the start of their career.
Simmons told the crowd, "She never told us to turn the music down once. I'd like to thank you for that."
Eminem inducted the group and revealed how they inspired him, saying, "They broke away from the pack by beating the pack. They were the baddest of the bad and the coolest of the cool. Run-DMC changed my life."
Run-DMC declined the invitation to perform at the bash, out of respect to Jay, who was murdered in a New York recording studio back in 2002.
