ROWLAND: 'I HAVE NO PLANS TO REUNITE WITH MY DAD'

KELLY ROWLAND blames her tumultuous relationship with her alcoholic father for her unsuccessful lovelife.
The former Destiny's Child singer was engaged to American footballer Roy Williams, but called off the wedding just months after she accepted his proposal in 2005 - and has been looking for true love ever since.
She insists there's a link between her estrangement from her father Christopher - who she and her mother fled from in her youth - and her pursuit of the wrong type of men.
Rowland tells Reveal magazine, "It was quite tough dealing with that when I was growing up. I wanted a father figure in my life and it can also mean you sometimes don't make the best decisions, including your choice in men. But I've spoken to many girls who have gone through it and unfortunately, it is quite common. It's for this reason that I don't cry myself a pity party over it."
But, despite her love life issues, Rowland insists she has no plans to patch things up with her dad in the near future - admitting she's just not ready to put the past behind her.
She adds, "I don't know how I feel about reuniting with him. I don't want to revisit that part of my life just yet - I just don't feel like dealing with it right now. I think there is a time and place for everything but it isn't now."
