MICKEY ROURKE is still convinced he made the right move when he beat up his former wife's drug dealer - because it got him fired from a film he didn't want to work on.
The Wrestler star discovered his then-addict ex was being offered heroin by a supplier - and turned to violence to resolve the situation.
He says, "I hit him harder than anybody in my life. He was out before he hit the ground. I hit an artery and there was a stream of blood that went 20 feet into the air."
And the incident angered producers of a movie Rourke was slated to be working on.
He adds, "I wasn't crazy about who I was working with. Already they were asking me, 'Are you going to be giving us trouble?', and it really p**sed me off."
