ROSS' COLLABORATOR SHOT DEAD

A collaborator of hip-hop star RICK ROSS has been murdered in a drive-by shooting in Miami, Florida.
Local rapper Toro, real name Derek Johnson, was travelling in a car with a pal in the early hours of Saturday (18Oct08) when a silver vehicle passed them by at around 4am. Shots were fired near strip club Coco's, killing Johnson, 23, and injuring his male companion.
Johnson's friend sustained a minor injury.
Officers at the Miami-Dade police department have not got a description of the shooter.
Johnson's grandmother Addie Balwin is stunned by the killing because the rapper, who was known for his Ross collaboration Ride, was well-liked.
She says, "I'm in a state of shock. He was easy going, everybody loved him - we thought."
