ROONEY LAUNCHES JAMES DEAN CAMPAIGN
Hollywood legend MICKEY ROONEY has helped launch a new campaign to convert an Indiana high school into the James Dean Performing Arts Center and Museum. Rooney was joined by PAT BOONE and SHANNEN DOHERTY for the launch in Hollywood last week (9NOV06), where campaign bosses revealed they are seeking $6 million (GBP3.2 million) to renovate Fairmount High, where Dean first developed his love of acting. Boone says, "Our mission is to create a living tribute to the Rebel Without a Cause, and in the process preserve a beautiful and important building." Dean was killed in a car crash in California in 1955, at the age of 24.
