RODDENBERRY'S FIRST APPLE MACINTOSH COMPUTER UP FOR SALE
The first Apple MACintosh Plus computer, which was given to STAR TREK creator GENE RODDENBERRY, is to be auctioned off.
California auction house Profiles in History will place the item under the hammer during a Hollywood memorabilia sale on 8 and 9 October (09).
Company spokesman Marc Kruskol says, "Bearing the serial number F4200NUM0001, this wonderful association between the visionary computer designer/manufacturer and legendary Star Trek creator is a stellar example of the powerful synergy between technology and entertainment.
"This amazing artifact is accompanied by a signed letter of provenance from Gene Roddenberry's son, Rod."
The computer is expected to fetch up to $1,200 (GBP800).
