ROBERTS' STEPMOM TO BE REMADE IN BOLLYWOOD

JULIA ROBERTS fever has swept up Bollywood - Indian moviemakers are to remake her STEPMOM film.
The Pretty Woman star spent much of September (09) in the sub-continent shooting new movie Eat, Pray, Love and it seems her presence has prompted movie executives to revamp one of her lesser-known films.
Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor will play the stepmother character Roberts played opposite Susan Sarandon in the 1998 film.
The Indian version of the film will also feature Kajol and Arjun Rampal.
Purists are unhappy that Bollywood executives are remaking a Hollywood film instead of mining their own rich literature for movie ideas.
Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed tells WENN, "Bollywood filmmakers are blatantly recreating Hollywood themes while ignoring India’s abundance of great tales ready for adaptation for the big screen. India had a longstanding tradition of scriptural and folk tales and various languages of India were loaded with literary themes to choose from."
The new film will be shot in Australia and the U.S.
