ROBBIE WILLIAMS' SWINE FLU SCARE

Robbie Williams sparked fears for his health after fearing he had swine flu - but was later diagnosed with a cold.

Robbie Williams feared he had swine flu.

The 'Angels' singer sparked health concerns after revealing he was having a medical check up to discover if he had contracted the potentially-fatal virus after suffering from flu-like symptoms.

He wrote on his blog: "Off to the doctors to confirm if I have pig or not."

The posting was followed by several get well messages from concerned fans.

However, his spokesperson has now confirmed the singer - who is currently preparing to release his long-awaited comeback album, 'Reality Killed The Video Star' - does not have the illness, but is suffering from a heavy cold.

The representative said: "He was just being ultra careful by going to the doctor. He was shooting his video for the new single 'Bodies' last week and picked up a cold on the set."

Robbie isn't the only celebrity caught up in a swine flu scare.

'Harry Potter' actor Rupert Grint - who plays Ron Weasley in the hit wizard film franchise - thought he was going to die when he contracted the highly contagious illness last month.

He said: "It was quite scary when I first found out I had swine flu. I thought, 'Am I going to die?' But it was just like any other flu really. I had a sore throat and I went to bed for a few days."

'Get Sexy' trio Sugababes were forced to cancel a concert in Leeds, north England, last month after singers Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah fell ill with a "severe bout of flu" - expected to be the highly-contagious H1N1 virus.

Last week, it was reported Kasabian singer Tom Meighan had been rushed to hospital in Sydney, Australia, where he was diagnosed with the potentially-deadly virus.

A day later, his bandmates guitarist Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards and drummer Ian Matthews were left bedridden after coming down with the same symptoms.
