RICHIE LANDS U.S. SOAP ROLE
Birthday boy LIONEL RICHIE is set to join the cast of U.S. soap ONE LIFE TO LIVE.
The soul star, who turns 60 on Saturday (20Jun09), will tape his debut on the show next week (begs22Jun09).
He will play himself in the episode, which is scheduled to air in July (09).
Last year (08), rapper Snoop Dogg made an unlikely One Life To Live appearance.
Richie's role on the show is being kept a secret, but a show spokesman insists, "He won't just sing and go."
