RICHARDSON MOVED TO US HOSPITAL FOLLOWING SKI ACCIDENT

Actress Natasha Richardson, the wife of Hollywood star Liam Neeson, has been moved to a US hospital following an accident at a Canadian ski resort.

The 45-year-old was flown from Canada to New York by private jet with her husband to receive further treatment.

Reports suggest Richardson initially appeared unhurt after the accident on a beginner's slope at the luxury Mont Tremblant resort but was later found to have suffered a serious head injury.

An update on her condition is expected later today.

Richardson, the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave and the late film director Tony Richardson, has been married to Neeson for 14 years. They have two sons.

As well as a string of theatre productions the actress has starred in The Parent Trap, The Handmaid's Tale and Maid in Manhattan.
