RHYMES ALLOWED TO PERFORM
LATEST: Rapper BUSTA RHYMES has won his High Court battle to perform at a charity concert in London.
The star was detained at the British capital's City Airport on Thursday (25Sep08) over "unresolved convictions" in the U.S.
A judge subsequently ruled that Rhymes should be allowed into the country but refused to grant permission to perform at the Orange RockCorps at the city's Royal Albert Hall on Friday (26Sep08) night.
Rhymes took his case to the High Court on Friday afternoon and was granted a last-minute reprieve - allowing his appearance at the gig to go ahead.
The Judge emphasised the extraordinary nature of the case, and told the court he was acting so as not to disappoint the thousands of fans who were heading to the concert.
The 36-year-old's detention is thought to relate to previous convictions for drink driving and assault. Oddly, there was no drama when Rhymes, real name Trevor Smith, visited the U.K. just a month ago (Aug08).
