RHYMES ALLOWED INTO THE U.K.

LATEST: Rapper BUSTA RHYMES has been allowed into the United Kingdom, after spending hours detained at London's City Airport over "unresolved convictions" in the U.S.
Immigration officials at the airport stopped Rhymes on Thursday (25Sep08) morning and attempted to re-route the rapper to Amsterdam, Holland - until Rhymes' lawyer secured an injunction preventing the move.
After holding him for several hours, the authorities have now granted the star permission to enter the country, where he is due to perform a charity concert at London's Royal Albert Hall on Friday (26Sep08).
The 36-year-old's detention is thought to relate to previous convictions for drink driving and assault. Oddly, there was no drama when Rhymes, real name Trevor Smith, visited the U.K. just a month ago (Aug08).
Stephen Greene, the man behind the rapper's charity concert for RockCorps, says "(I'm) shocked at this sequence of events and this treatment of Busta. He has the necessary work permit and has been in the country twice already this year, so we're a little puzzled that a question mark is now being placed over his ability to enter the country."
