REVEREND AND THE MAKERS' PERSONAL SONGS

Reverend and the Makers singer John McLure admits he is distraught when anyone criticises his music and feels protective of ''personal'' new album 'French Kiss in the Chaos'.

Reverend and the Makers' new album is "a bit off its head".

Frontman John McLure says the group's forthcoming new album, 'French Kiss in the Chaos' is autobiographical, but admits the combination of his experiences and his opinions don't always make for easy listening.

He said: "I've had a few things happen to me over the last couple of years that I wanted to get off my chest. I've kinda put it all into this record. Half of it's personal, half of it's political and it's all a bit off its head".

Because of its personal nature, the outspoken singer says any criticism of the record "kills" him.

He added to XFM news: "It broke my heart a little bit making this record. When you're as opinionated as I am, if people don't like you, they really don't like you. Some people have said some really evil things about me and I'm a person, it affects me. A lot of it's dead personal what they say about me because I tell the truth and yeah, it hurts me. It kills me inside."
