RENO SUES VOICI MAGAZINE OVER HEART ATTACK STORY
Movie star JEAN RENO is suing French magazine Voici after the publication's reports he'd suffered a heart attack allegedly started to cost him work.
The Pink Panther star was hospitalised in August (08) after suffering a severe bout of heartburn and gastroenteritis while on holiday on the Caribbean island of St. Barts, but initial reports from his native France suggested the 60 year old had suffered a cardiac arrest.
Reno has since taken legal action against officials at Voici claiming the story damaged his career, and upset family and friends.
He tells WENN, "I sued the magazine because everybody was calling from all over the world to see if I was OK.
"In America, it caused a problem for me with the studios, who said, 'Well this guy is half dead!' When these stories are not true, it's not good."
