RENO STRUGGLES TO FIND TIME WITH PAL SARKOZY

World affairs have cost JEAN RENO his friendship with French President NICOLAS SARKOZY - the old pals only meet up for birthdays these days. The Da Vinci Code star is extremely proud of his dear friend, who now runs his country, but Sarkozy's busy life means he has very little social time.
Reno says, "It's more difficult for us to socialise. His birthday is January 28, and that's when I'll see him next. If you're a friend to those kinds of people you can not be a weight on their shoulders."
The actor reveals the two pals communicate with each other via text message: "Before his speech at the United Nations, when he said, 'I don't want to talk to a country that wants to destroy Israel,' I sent him a text: 'Nicolas, I'm happy for you.'
"I'm not a Jew and he's not, so I found what he said very honest and very tough to say.
"I'm not in politics, but I support him. He is good for France. I think, regarding the crisis that we're living in and with the relationship to America, I was so happy that he opened his arms, especially in New York."
