REEVE'S SON TO RUN NEW YORK CITY MARATHON
The son of late actor CHRISTOPHER REEVE will honour his father's legacy five years after his death - he's signed up to run the New York City Marathon for charity.
Matthew Reeve, 29, was only 15 when his movie star father broke his neck during an equestrian competition in 1995. The actor died in October 2004 of cardiac arrest.
Reeve Jr. will hit the pavement for his first marathon on 1 November (09) to raise money for the the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation - founded by the Superman actor to fund treatments and find a cure for people paralysed by spinal cord injury and neurological disorders.
Reeve will wear bib number 1275 in the race, indicating the 1.275 million Americans with spinal cord injuries.
His Team Reeve will be one of 75 official ING New York City Marathon charities.
