RED LIST LIVE FESTIVAL CANCELLED
THE ZUTONS, BRITISH SEA POWER, THE WOMBATS and THE WEDDING PRESENT will all have some unexpected free time on their hands this summer after the cancellation of the Red List Live Festival.
Set to take place from June 19th to 21st, organisers have now cancelled the event which has never been staged before.
The acts would have played at the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and it was hoped £1 million would be raised for animal charity The Aspinall Foundation.
However, organisers fear that the credit crunch means the event now represents an "unacceptable risk".
"The decision has been made at an early stage, before final acts were booked, promotion began and site work undertaken, as a pragmatic response to current troubled and uncertain financial conditions," they said.
Last month, the Heavenly Planet festival set to replaced the Womad event which used to take place in Reading, was also cancelled.
Womad will be held in Wiltshire this year.
