RECORD BOSSES DENY 50 CENT LABEL SPLIT

Interscope Records bosses have slammed reports 50 CENT's label G-Unit Records is to part ways with its distributors, despite moderate sales figures for artists on the rap roster. Talks of a split between the labels have been sparked by poor record sales from artists like MOBB DEEP and LLOYD BANKS. Website AllHipHop.com reports that the speculation began when following sales of Banks' sophomore album ROTTEN APPLE, which sold just 143,000 copies in its first week of release in October (06) - compared to the 433,000 copies his debut THE HUNGER FOR MORE sold in 2004.
