REALITY STAR GOODY UNDERGOES CANCER SURGERY

LATEST: British reality TV star JADE GOODY has undergone surgery for cervical cancer.
The 27-year-old underwent an eight-hour operation at London's Royal Marsden hospital on Friday (12Sep08) after being diagnosed with the disease last month (Aug08).
Doctors broke the news as she was appearing on India's version of Big Brother, prompting her to abruptly fly out of Mumbai to return home for treatment.
Goody's spokesperson Max Clifford says: "The operation went well. She's got the best people looking after her. She's had surgery, a radical hysterectomy and the operation lasted eight hours."
He adds, "I spoke to her last night and she was as comfortable as possible and trying to be positive but was obviously feeling very scared as any 27-year-old in that situation would."
The mother-of-two is expected to remain at the hospital over the weekend (beg13Sep08) before she begins a nine-week course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in the coming months.
