REAL WORLD STAR ARRAIGNED ON BITING CHARGES

MTV's reality show THE REAL WORLD is at the centre of another controversy, following the arrest of a current star on assault charges. PAULA ANN MERONEK, 25, has been arraigned on third-degree assault charges after police arrested her for allegedly biting her boyfriend JOHN ALYWARD during a fight on Sunday (09JUL06). Alyward was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Meronek is due in court on 11 August (06) to face charges. She could be sentenced to a year in jail. MTV bosses insist the incident will not affect the 17th season of The Real World because it has already been filmed.
