REA NOT RETIRING

Veteran singer CHRIS REA has reassured fans he has no plans to retire, despite selling his riverside studio in Cookham, England. The ROAD TO HELL star, who nearly died from pancreatitis recently, has put the property on the market for GBP1.7 million ($3.1 million) leading to reports he is abandoning the music scene. But a spokeswoman says, "He's not packing up and retiring. He'll just be recording elsewhere."

Chris Rea with Stoney Road has become as good as the old blues artists I used to listen to as a kid. Son House ( Pauline Pauline whats matter wit you) Robert Johnson Elmore James etc but now these songs from Chris are new blues classics every bit as good and honest and engaging as the best Ive heard from Lomax's collections.

I have been a big Rea fan for over 25 years, Saw hi m first at Victoria Palace on the Wired to the Moon tour, have all his recordings and some. He has inspired to me to take up guitaring, and I have a small studio set-up in NZ where I can release my stress and create stuff I never thought I could do. My father passed away last year and I was able to write a tribute to him thanks to the inspiration Chris has given me. Whatever his future plans are, Thank you Chris for what you have given me. Alan
