RARE SIXX PAINTING GOES UP FOR SALE

Fans of MOTLEY CRUE rocker NIKKI SIXX have the chance to own a rare piece of the star's artwork - one of his abstract paintings has gone under the virtual hammer.
The colourful creation, which bears the words 'Fear of Silence' on the front, is just one of a series of four canvases produced by the bassist in 1992, each featuring different phrases.
It is signed 'N. Sixx 92' on the bottom right corner and on the back of the painting.
The artwork, which measures 48 inches (1.22 metres) square, was acquired by a U.S. radio station for a Los Angeles auction in 1992, and its current owner has now put it up for sale on auction website eBay.com.
As of Thursday (08Jan09) morning, the piece had attracted just one bid at a price of $495 (GBP330).
The sale is due to close on Sunday (11Jan09).
