RARE MCCARTNEY SONG UP FOR GRABS
Rare handwritten letters by former BEATLE SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY and a guitar owned by JIMI HENDRIX will go under the hammer at a New York auction site later today (04DEC06).
A page of draft lyrics for the Beatles song MAXWELL'S SILVER HAMMER is expected to fetch $300,000 (GBP151,000), while a Fender Stratocaster owned by guitar maestro Hendrix is expected to go for at least $80,000 (GBP41,000).
Other lots going on sale at Christies in New York include MILES DAVIS' trumpet and love letters by BOB DYLAN.
