RAPPER PITBULL HONOURED IN NATIVE MIAMI
Cuban-American rapper PITBULL has been handed the key to his native Miami, Florida.
The reformed drug dealer, real name Armando Perez, was presented with the ceremonial honour by Miami Commissioner Thomas Regalado, who applauded the I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) hitmaker for the "positive impact" he has made on the city.
Pitbull released his debut album in 2004 titled M.I.A.M.I. (Money Is a Major Issue), and has hailed his hometown in many of his records.
The rapper says, "I can't help but keep staring at it (honour), because it's something I've worked so hard for. I'm very passionate about Miami... Miami has built my character, and it has taught me a lot about life and helped me in my career."
