RAPPER MURDER TO BE RETRIED

Rapper C-MURDER is to be retried on a second-degree murder charge. Master P's 36-year-old brother - real name Corey Miller - will be back in court on 11 February (08) after prosecutors and defence attorneys failed to strike a deal during a telephone conference on Monday (15Oct07). The rapper's 2003 conviction of the shooting death of teenager Steve Thomas outside a Louisiana nightclub was thrown out last year (06) when prosecutors were found guilty of withholding criminal background information on witnesses. Miller was released from jail in New Orleans last March (06) and placed on house arrest after posting $500,000 (GBP250,000) bail. If found guilty, Miller faces a life sentence without parole.
