RAMBO FAILS TO KNOCK JUMPER FROM NUMBER ONE U.K. SPOT

JUMPER has continued its reign atop the U.K. box office chart, after SYLVESTER STALLONE's RAMBO failed to knock the sci-fi blockbuster off the number one spot. The Hayden Christensen-starring Jumper leads the box office for the second week running with takings of $3.02 million (GBP1.51 million), closely followed by Jack Black comedy Be Kind Rewind, which debuts at number two with $2.76 million (GBP1.38 million). Rambo's disappointing opening weekend takings of $2.6 million (GBP1.3 million) means the action film comes in at third place, with teen pregnancy comedy Juno at number four and National Treasure: Book of Secrets at number five. It is thought British cinema chain Odeon's ban on screening Rambo, owing to undisclosed "commercial reasons", has considerably affected the film's positioning.
