RAIMI HINTS AT DOUBLE HELPING OF SPIDER-MAN
SPIDER-MAN director SAM RAIMI has hinted the fourth and fifth installments of the hit movie franchise could be shot simultaneously.
A fourth Spider-Man movie is due for release in 2011 with original superhero star Tobey Maguire returning as the web-slinging crime fighter.
But Raimi reveals comic book fans could be treated to a double helping of Spider-Man, with the films being shot back-to-back, like the Lord of the Rings movie sequels.
He tells MTV News, "I don't have a script yet, but production would start probably by March of 2010, I'm guessing. It sounds like a long time away, but we need a script first, and a lot of pre-production has to take place.
"(Shooting two sequels simultaneously) has been talked about... I don't think it has been decided yet, and she (Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal) is the one that's really going to make that decision; I'm really curious myself."
