RADIOHEAD STAGE TIBET PROTEST

British rockers RADIOHEAD used the opening concert of their world tour to protest against China's human rights record in Tibet - by decorating the stage with Tibetan flags.
The Creep hitmakers played the first date of their tour at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in Florida on Monday (05May08), and used the opportunity to express their support for the people of Tibet.
The region lost independence to China in 1951, and Chinese authorities have come under fire in recent months over the Tibetan issue ahead of the forthcoming Olympic Games in Beijing this summer (08).
Radiohead have long been known for publicising their political beliefs, more recently campaigning on behalf of the environment - urging other artists to make their tours more planet-friendly, reports Gigwise.com.
