RADIOHEAD SAYS 'NO' TO NUCLEAR POWER

Environmentally-friendly rockers RADIOHEAD have criticised the British government for its decision to build 10 new nuclear power stations - insisting the country should not remain reliant on outdated energy sources.
U.K. politicians are set to approve a new generation of reactors for sites across the country, with the plans set to be finalised by the end of the year (09).
But frontman Thom Yorke, a well-known campaigner for green issues, is fuming - and he's posted a message on the band's official website to condemn the plans.
Under the heading "Nuclear power no thanks" the singer writes: "Under the confused assumption that we can carry on consuming power as we do now into the future and too afraid to think out of their own isolated political fuzzy cloud, the British government is committing to build a new round of nuclear power stations for which we don't have the money. Great. Just perfect. Well done fellas. You've really thought about this haven't you?"
Radiohead proved their commitment to environmental issues last year (08) by embarking on their first energy-saving tour - aiming to reduce their carbon footprint as they performed around the world.
