RADIOHEAD PLAN 'GREEN' PERFORMANCE ON US TALK SHOW
RADIOHEAD are planning to play an eco-friendly gig as part of NBC's Green Week.
The British band's 'green' performance will take place on US talk show Late Night with Conan O'Brien on Wednesday evening, NME magazine reports.
In order to lower their carbon footprint, the band will tape the one-off performance at their London studio rather than flying across the Atlantic to record it in the US.
According to the publication, front man THOM YORKE has noted that this will avoid leaving a carbon footprint equivalent to driving a car for a year solid.
The group will perform HOUSE OF CARDS, the latest single from the Ivor Novello-nominated album IN RAINBOWS.
IN RAINBOWS was initially made available for fans to download at whatever price they chose, before releasing it at a set price an idea which was recently criticised by Queen of pop MADONNA.
Speaking to Digital Spy, the songstress said she would have been reluctant to let her fans pay whatever they wanted for her latest release HARD CANDY, adding "it is a cool idea but I am not sure if it works exactly".
"I don't know if I want to put my songs out there and ask other people what it is worth."
