R2-D2 ACTOR RECOVERING IN HOSPITAL
LATEST: Diminutive STAR WARS actor KENNY BAKER is feeling "a lot better" after he was admitted to hospital with chest problems, reports his son.
The three-foot, eight-inch (1.12-metre) star - who has appeared as lovable droid R2-D2 in all six films in the franchise - fell ill after a holiday in the U.S. and checked into hospital on Wednesday (09Apr09) in Wythenshawe, Manchester, England.
Doctors believe a bout of pneumonia he suffered from last year (07) may be behind his current affliction, which has left the 73-year-old dependent on a nebuliser to assist his breathing.
Baker's son Kevin explains, "He was very seriously ill when he flew in on Tuesday but he's out of bed now. He's well aware of all the support he's received and thanks everyone for their kind regards."
