QUO'S UNCOOL CHRISTMAS TUNE
Rockers STATUS QUO are competing for Britain's Christmas number one single with the "uncoolest" song of their 40-year career.
The Rockin' All Over The World hitmakers released their first festive tune, It's Christmas Time, on Monday (08Dec08) - and they're not kidding themselves about the quality of the holiday favourite.
Frontman Francis Rossi tells WENN, “The song is obscenely commercial - it’s perfect for Christmas. If you are worried about being cool, don’t bother. It has to have every cliche in the book.”
But the track is well out of contention in the race for the coveted U.K. Christmas number one - the winner of Saturday night's (13Dec08) TV talent show X Factor is the clear favourite to land the festive chart-topper with a new version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
