QUIET CHAOS REIGNS AT ITALIAN FILM AWARDS
Romantic drama QUIET CHAOS is leading the way at Italy's David di Donatello movie awards with a massive 18 nominations. Antonello Grimaldi's 2008 much-acclaimed film received a nod in every category for which it is eligible to pick up a gong, including Best Motion Picture, Best Director for Grimaldi, and Best Leading Actor and Actress. The picture, which features a cameo appearance from legendary director Roman Polanski, has taken more than $8 million (GBP4 million) at the Italian box office since its release earlier this year (08). Other contenders for the coveted awards include thriller The Girl by the Lake, which received 15 nods, and The Right Distance which is up for eight prizes, according to Variety.com. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Italy on 18 April (08).
