QOTSA PAY TRIBUTE TO WINEHOUSE
QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE have paid tribute to troubled star AMY WINEHOUSE - by covering her hit REHAB. The U.S. rockers were performing at London's Brixton Academy on Monday (26Nov07) when frontman Josh Homme launched into the song's chorus during drug-anthem Feel Good Hit Of The Summer. Homme sang to the crowd, "They tried to make me go to rehab, and I said 'no, no, no'... because that's the kind of guy I am, baby," before returning to the original Queens Of The Stone Age song, which features the lyrics "Nicotine, valium, vicodin, marijuana, ecstasy and alcohol/C-c-c-c-c-cocaine" repeated over and over. Earlier this month (Nov07), the band was booted offstage at a gig in a Californian rehab facility after opening the show with Feel Good Hit Of The Summer, a tribute to hard drugs.
