Q-TIP TURNS AUTHOR TO DELIVER INDUSTRY RULES

Rap veteran Q-TIP is sharing the secrets of his success in a new book inspired by lyrics from his former band A TRIBE CALLED QUEST's classic track CHECK THE RHIME.
The Breathe And Stop star has landed a deal with Ballantine Books to publish Industry Rules, which will see Q-Tip voice his opinions on topics in the entertainment business, as well as reveal stories about his own experiences in fashion, love and morality.
The title and content builds on his Check The Rhime rap, in which he states, "Industry rule number 4080: record company people are shady."
He says in a statement, "It was important to me to write a book because on the whole, I feel we could all be more literate, and as an artist, I’m always looking for ways to do something cool, different, and both light and introspective at the same time.
"With so many influences... there’s a lot to say, and I look forward to reaching a bunch of colourful dudes and gals with the project."
Industry Rules is set for release next year (10) to coincide with the 20th anniversary of A Tribe Called Quest's debut album, People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, reports AllHipHop.com.
