PUMPKIN CORGAN HIRES TEENAGE DRUMMER

SMASHING PUMPKINS rocker BILLY CORGAN has plucked a 19-year-old drummer from obscurity to join his Grammy-winning band.
Mike Byrne, currently performing with a band called Moses, Smell the Roses, revealed he's been "at Pumpkin camp" in a posting on his MySpace page.
And Corgan has confirmed he's found a drummer, revealing on his blog he planned to "work with him (Byrne) some more before it becomes official".
The Tonight hitmaker is rebuilding the band after the departure of percussionist Jimmy Chamberlin earlier this year (09).
System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan was among 12 musicians who auditioned for the band back in April (09).
