PUBLICIST YANKS PATTINSON FROM SEACREST INTERVIEW

Once again focusing attention on how effectively publicists can control the content of broadcast interviews, it was reported Tuesday that Robert Pattinson walked out of a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest when Seacrest asked him about his relationship with his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart. A video posted on numerous websites shows his publicist -- who was not identified in any report about the incident -- agitatedly motioning the young movie heartthrob to leave after Seacrest put the question to him (apparently ignoring a ground rule for the interview). Seacrest appears nonplused, remarking, "We can't ask that question? You can't ask that question to the guy? It's his co-star! It's a fair question!" As Pattinson throws his arms in the air and rises from his seat, Seacrest exclaims, "This is the first time ever!" He later posted this comment on Twitter "Robert Pattinson is [a] class act. However the rep he was with yanked him off the air and off the mic when I asked about Kristen. Unreal!" The celebrity website TMZ, which was one of the sites that posted video of the incident, commented, "Robert remained charming as he got up and left ... but the bottom line -- he still left."
