THE PROCLAIMERS are celebrating their first number one UK single, after their charity track (I'M GONNA BE) 500 MILES soared to the top spot. The Scottish brothers, CRAIG and CHARLIE REED, teamed up with British comedians PETER KAY and MATT LUCAS for the Comic Relief single. In second place is another Comic Relief fundraiser, WALK THIS WAY by SUGABABES VS GIRLS ALOUD, while AVRIL LAVIGNE is at number three with GIRLFRIEND. GWEN STEFANI FT AKON's THE SWEET ESCAPE and ALEX GAUDINO FT CRYSTAL WATERS are at number four and five respectively. Meanwhile, TAKE THAT top the UK albums chart with BEAUTIFUL WORLD, while RAY QUINN's DOING IT MY WAY is at number two. KAISER CHIEFS' YOURS TRULY ANGRY MOB is at number three; ENTER SHIKARI's TAKE TO THE SKIES is at number four; and CASCADA's EVERYTIME WE TOUCH - THE ALBUM is at number five.
