PROBST BOWS TO NEW EMMY HOST HARRIS

American TV star JEFF PROBST bowed down to new Emmy host NEIL PATRICK HARRIS at the 61st annual ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday (20Sep09), admitting he botched his presenting duties last year (08).
Survivor star Probst and fellow reality TV personalities American Idol's Ryan Seacrest, Project Runway's Heidi Klum, Dancing with the Stars' Tom Bergeron and Deal or No Deal's Howie Mandel faced harsh criticism from their fellow celebrities after putting on lacklustre skits and song-and-dance numbers last September.
But Harris had the star-studded audience smiling from the start after appearing in a tuxedo to open the show with a rousing Las Vegas-style musical number.
And when Probst was honoured as the Best Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program, he admitted he had been outdone by the How I Met Your Mother star.
Turning to Harris, Probst joked, "Neil Patrick Harris, this is how you host the Emmys! Nice job."
