PRINCE WILLIAMS CRIES AT DIANA MEMORIAL
A tearful PRINCE WILLIAM, PRINCE HARRY, PRINCE CHARLES, QUEEN ELIZABETH II and SIR ELTON JOHN were among those who gathered to pay tribute to the late DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES at a memorial service in London on Friday (31Aug07).
William, 25, quietly cried as his younger brother Harry spoke about their late mother Diana - who died 10 years ago to the day in a car accident in Paris, France - at the Guards Chapel service in Buckingham Palace.
Harry, 22, said, "To us, just two loving children, she was the best mother in the world... who laughed hysterically and uncontrollably when sharing something silly... (and) encouraged us when we were nervous."
Also in attendance was filmmaker Lord Richard Attenborough, photographer Mario Testino, 110 members of the British royal family, Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former Prime Ministers Tony Blair and John Major, and 130 people attached to charities Diana supported.
Diana's former husband Prince Charles' second wife Camilla, Duchess Of Cornwall stayed away from the memorial service, as she promised she would earlier this week (begs27Aug07) after deciding her presence "could divert attention from the purpose of the occasion".
