PREGNANT SINGER KELIS FILES FOR DIVORCE FROM NAS

Milkshake singer Kelis has filed for divorce from her rapper husband Nas, it has been announced.

The 29-year-old, real name Kelis Roger-Jones, met the Illmatic rap star in 2002 at an MTV Video Music awards after party and married Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones in Atlanta in 2005.

While she is seven months' pregnant with their first child, it has now been confirmed that she has filed for divorce from Nas after just over four years of marriage.

"I can confirm that she has filed for divorce," Kelis' representative told the E! News website.

"We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."

Vibe.com first broke the news of the divorce suit, posting the actual petition online, which cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
