POLITICIAN DEFENDS FOX PARKINSON'S DISEASE SHAKES

Missouri Democratic Senate candidate CLAIRE MCCASKILL has blasted Republican radio pundit RUSH LIMBAUGH for poking fun at MICHAEL J FOX's Parkinson's Disease shakes in her new campaign ad. The BACK TO THE FUTURE star agreed to appear in MCCaskill's TV ads after learning she was a big advocate for stem-cell research - a cause for which Fox is a public activist. In the ad, the actor trembles and shakes as he urges viewers to vote for stem-cell research and for MCCaskill. Outspoken Limbaugh has attacked the ad, claiming Fox is "acting" and exaggerating his symptoms. Fox has already hit back, insisting he was not making the most of his Parkinson's Disease quirks for political effect, and now MCCaskill has joined the debate. She says, "I think it's a very powerful ad. In America we really admire courage and commitment and I think this is a great example of both. "When people are confronted by something that's powerful and real, and it's not what they agree with, I think, unfortunately, they sometimes attack the messenger. "Only in politics would someone, I think, have the nerve to belittle Mr Fox this way."
