POLANSKI VICTIM: 'PLEASE DROP THE CHARGES'

ROMAN POLANSKI's sexual assault victim is calling for California authorities to drop their 32-year-old charges against the director.
The moviemaker is in jail in Switzerland fighting extradition to America, where prosecutors in Los Angeles hope to complete sentencing for the crimes he fled from in 1978.
Polanski was detained by Swiss police last month (Sep09), while he was in Zurich attending a film festival.
But Samantha Geimer, who was 13 when the filmmaker assaulted her at a party, wants the matter dropped because the fuss surrounding Polanski’s arrest has disrupted her job and her health.
She claims that she and her attorney have received close to 500 phone calls from international media since the director was detained.
In a statement, her lawyer Lawrence Silver writes, "Leave her alone."
He claims Larry King and Oprah Winfrey's representatives have tried to get his client on their shows and photographers camped outside her home in Hawaii have been offering gifts to her children in exchange for information.
