PLANT, CBE TOPS ROCK SINGER POLL

Former LED ZEPPELIN star ROBERT PLANT has picked up his second major award of the new year (09) after he was named the Greatest Voice in Rock in an online radio network poll.
Plant, who was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen's New Year's Honours list for his services to music and the entertainment industry, has topped Planet Rock's new The Greatest Voice in Rock Top 40 ahead of Freddie Mercury and Mercury's Queen replacement Paul Rodgers.
The only woman to make the new list is Janis Joplin.
