PLANT AND KRAUSS 'WIN TOP AMERICANA AWARDS'

Rock legend ROBERT PLANT scooped the top gong at this year's (08) Americana Music Association Awards, according to U.S. reports.
The Led Zeppelin singer and country star Alison Krauss won Duo-Group of the Year and Album of the Year for their LP Raising Sand at the 7th Annual Honours and Awards at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on Thursday (18Sep08).
Although the results are yet to be made public, online reports claim the pair accepted the award in person before Plant joined the show's bandleader Buddy Miller onstage to sing a new song due to be released on Miller's upcoming album.
The Americana Music Association is a trade organisation devoted to promoting music which has its cultural roots in the States.
