PIRATES PILLAGES AT TOP OF THE US BOX OFFICE
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST continues to shatter US box office records, claiming the number one spot for the second week in a row with $62.2 million (GBP35 million), raising it's 10-day total to $258.2 million (GBP143.4 million). The movie has quickly become the year's (06) top-grossing film, rocketing past X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, which has taken $232 million (GBP129 million) in eight weeks. LITTLE MAN, the Wayans brothers' comedy about a pint-sized thief masquerading as a baby, claimed the number two spot, opening with $21.7 million (GBP12 million). The film stars SHAWN and MARLON WAYANS, who co-wrote the film with brother KEENEN IVORY WAYANS, who also directed. YOU, ME AND DUPREE a comedy starring OWEN WILSON as an unwanted house guest staying with a newlywed couple, played by MATT DILLON and KATE HUDSON, debuted at number three with $21.3 million (GBP12 million). SUPERMAN RETURNS came in fourth with $11.6 million (GBP6.4 million) and THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA rounded out the top five with $10.45 million (GBP5.8 million).
