PINK SLIPS FINALLY FALL AT DISNEY

After announcing last week that it plans to lay off 20 percent of its employees, the Walt Disney Co. on Tuesday began handing out pink slips, with many of them falling at the story department. Daily Variety, citing an unnamed executive who received his walking papers, said that it was not possible to estimate the actual number of employees who were let go, but that many were longtime staffers. Among the executives who were cut was 17-year Disney veteran Karen Glass, executive VP of Buena Vista Motion Picture Group.
